The aluminum body is constructed for lightweight durability and equipped with fans and an induced draft cooling to prevent overheating. At back of the body, there is a handle that can be used for easy gripping while setting up or moving the light to a preferred position. Underneath the body is a standard umbrella socket which can be used for multiple types of studio umbrellas. Other light modifiers such as softboxes or beauty dishes can also be attached to the monolight by a dedicated Fotodiox / Calumet / Bowens speedring.

On the rear control panel there are seven digital buttons, a digital lcd power display, the units main power switch, a PC sync socket and a built-in optic slave. The included PC sync socket can be used to cable the light to a camera or light meter or can be used with a remote trigger system (such as the Fotodiox Flash Angel, Aputure Trigmaster Plus or SMDV FlashWave III). The ready light indicator with optional beep and optional modeling indicator lets you know when the light unit is ready for use and the test button allows you to test the flash without firing the camera. The built-in slave can be used to trigger the light by other flash or infrared sources.
