Holiday Shipping and Returns 2020: What You Need to Know

December 8, 2020

With December comes the holiday season, which draws closer and closer. While select items are on sale, they are not the only items that would make a good stocking stuffer. Choosing a gift can be hard enough, but one hurdle we tend overlook is the shipping turnaround time. Shipping services all over the world are exeriencing shipping delays due to COVID-19, and the holidays don't make it any easier.

Here are the most important deadlines to keep in mind to make sure you (or your loved ones) get your packages on time for Christmas Day (December 25th):

USPS

USPS has informed us that it's experiencing a higher volume of packages passing through its system. In general, that means that parcels are taking longer to be delivered, and in the worst case scenario, tracking may be unavailable.

USPS Estimates for shipping within the continguous United States:

  • Packages shipped via USPS First Class or USPS Priority Mail must be ordered by December 10th.
  • Packages shipped via USPS Priority Express must be ordered by December 21st.

UPS

UPS Estimates for shipping within the continguous United States:

  • Packages shipped via UPS Groundmust be ordered by December 14th.
  • Packages shipped via UPS 3 Day Select must be ordered by December 20th.
  • Packages shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air must be ordered by December 21st.
  • Packages shipped via UPS Next Day Air must be ordered by December 22nd.

Overview

All estimates above are exactly that: estimates. Fotodiox, USPS, and UPS are not able to guarantee delivery by December 25th, but we can offer approximations on ordering early enough so that your orders can get to their destination on time.

As usual, shipping is free on all orders over $50 when shopping on our website. Free shipping (as well as Flate Rate Shipping) covers USPS First Class on lighter items, and UPS Ground on heavier items. If you are unsure of which service your item will be shipping with, it would be the saftest bet to order by December 10th.

Returns and Refunds

The product wasn't exactly how you wanted? That's okay! Contact our tech support to see if they can help you get the product to work better or to find the product that'd work better for you. But if you want to go for a return/refund instead, that's also possible; any order that has been post-marked between December 1st and December 24th can be returned until January 15th (all usual Return policies and procedures apply as well).
