Using a polarizer with a rangefinder is tricky because you can't see the effect through the viewfinder, but the trick is to use a separate viewer (like a small mirror, a polar checker, or even another camera's live view) to dial in the polarizer's rotation for the desired effect (glare/reflection reduction, deeper skies) on the lens, then carefully transfer that setting to the lens, often by marking the filter's position.
