Picture day at Fotodiox

Fall is just around the corner, and for many out there, school is back in session. At Fotodiox, we've got some new faces (and returning ones) so what better way to get into the school spirit than having a picture day!

Unfortunately, with our video studio mid-production, and our two photo studios closed for painting, we had to get creative about studio space, temporarily re-purposing some of our office space into a makeshift studio:

1) For a nice, dark backdrop, we chose our 8x14 black background, held up with our 2.1-meter reflector stand:

(Honestly, what did you expect for this image?)

2) For lighting, we used a SkyFiller 1x2 Three-Light Kit. To ensure background separation for darker clothes and hair, we used one Skyfiller 1x2 on each side:

3) As a keylight, we used one Skyfiller 1x2 on a boom arm slightly above the subject:

4) Finally, for fill, we used our curved beauty reflector below the subject:

We used our Fujifilm GFX 50s camera, and while we could've flaunted our GFX Fusion adapter for Canon lenses, we stuck to the native 110mm f/2. To keep the camera on the vertical position, we used our Exxy L-Bracket specific to the 50S (it's a heavy camera; we're bound to get tired of hand holding it):

Also, here's a friendly PSA to charge your batteries the night before a shoot, and to make sure you have an SD card ready to go.

One-by-one, everyone came in for their portrait session. After plenty of outtakes, misfires, redos, I present to you our Fotodiox Class of 2019:
